What is CAR-T Cell Therapy?

Cancer has affected millions of people all across the world. There are many methods to reduce or eliminate the cancerous disease that is invading it’s host. One form of treatment is called CAR-T cell therapy which highlights the immunotherapy aspect. The treatment main focus is conducting laboratory work in which the patient’s T-cells are manipulated and reinserted into the patient. The manipulation caused a special gene called chimeric antigen receptor to be inserted into the patient’s T-cells. This modification allows the altered T-Cells to bind to cancer cells and kill them. This treatment has work wonders and continues to do so.
