Hello!

We are Generation Mendel! A team of 15 enthusiastic students from Brno - home of Johan Gregor Mendel, the Father of Genetics - and this is our first year participating in iGEM! Our team is very diverse, consisting of molecular biologists, biochemists, IT, PR and law experts. We also appreciate the assistance provided by our advisors, mentors and dedicated PI. Thanks to their advice and comments we are able to form a realistic project from our ideas.

In our project, we will be focusing on the overabundance of cyanobacteria and the toxins they produce. These cyanotoxins, often neurotoxins or hepatotoxins, are hazardous for humans and other water species. Design of our device is very complex and it is capable not only of degrading cyanobacteria but also of preventing their overpopulation.
