(Ricin A chain) Immunotoxin
Ricin A chain (RTA) is a highly potent toxin derived from the seeds of the castor bean plant (Ricinus communis). It is a type 2 ribosome-inactivating protein (RIP) that can efficiently inhibit protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells. Due to its cytotoxic properties, the Ricin A chain has been explored for its potential use in targeted cancer therapy, specifically in the form of immunotoxins.
