Team Description
Hello! We are the Stony Brook University 2020 iGEM team! We are a group of 14 undergraduate students from a variety of different academic backgrounds. Previous SBU iGEM teams have taken home gold (2018) and bronze (2019) medals. This year, our project focuses on mitigating the effects of gene flow in the agriculture sector to ensure the safety of our food supply - especially in times of rapid population growth and progressing climate change. Emphasizing the potential benefits of genetically modified (GM) crops, our team will work to educate our community on the advantages of synthetic biology and research!
