Our team at University of Oslo, Norway UiO 2020 has decided to focus on amoebic gill disease (AGD) in Atlantic salmon. A big challenge with AGD and other fish diseases is often connected to late detection. Parameuba perurans causes irreversible respiratory stress for the Atlantic salmon when detected at a late stage. Therefore, we have decided to design a system for early detection and produce a drug in the lab that may be used in bathing treatments.
