Team Description
We are a group of high school students from the City of London Schools, the only secondary school team in the UK. Our project is based around the neutralisation of cocaine in sewers. This is in order to prevent harm to the critically endangered European Eel, a species of great importance to the ecosystems in the River Thames and many rivers, lakes and seas across the continent. The eel is severely impacted by levels of the drug as low as 30ng. We aim to create a long-term bioengineering-based solution to this problem, neutralising cocaine in sedimentary tanks in the sewer systems.
